MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. (Sept. 22, 2024) — A two-vehicle collision occurred on Interstate 24 at approximately 2:35 p.m. Sunday, causing a two-hour closure of the eastbound left lane near mile marker 14.
According to the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department, a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox driven by Stacey Boddy of Benton was traveling eastbound in the left lane when it collided with a 2016 Mazda MZ6 operated by Guy Truex of Clarksville. Both vehicles struck the cable barrier on the left shoulder following the impact.
Truex was transported to a local hospital by EMS for non-incapacitating injuries.
The left lane remained closed for roughly two hours as crews cleared the scene. The McCracken County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Reidland Fire Department, Mercy Regional EMS, Stinnett’s Towing, and the Kentucky State Highway.
