FESTUS, Mo. (News First) A new fiscal year budget received approval from the Festus City Council Monday night. It’s for a little more than $40 million. City Administrator Greg Camp tells News 1st about one of the more expensive projects in this new budget.
Camp describes another important and high-dollar project that has been going on and will continue into the new fiscal year in the city of Festus.
Several more projects were approved for this new budget for the City of Festus, like approving some funds to expand the Festus Fire Department in manpower, and renovating the old red barn at Crites Park, where it could be rented out for weddings or other activities. One budget item of note, full-time Festus City employees will receive a raise of 5 to 8 percent. The 2023-24 Fiscal Year for the City wraps up on September 30th. On October 1st, the 2024-25 budget will kick in.
