FARMINGTON, Mo. (News First) – This year’s Help the Hungry Bake Sale in Farmington is still a few weeks away but organizers held a tune-up event on Friday and it was quite the success. It was the Help the Hungry Barbecue, held at Auffenburg Chevrolet and the Memorial United Methodist Church. Barbecue lunches were sold for 7 dollars apiece and the final tally shows over 1,600 lunches sold and they brought in $11,700. The best part, all the money raised from the barbecue and the upcoming bake sale will go to the food pantries that serve Farmington. The 19th Help the Hungry Bake Sale will be Saturday, November 23rd from 9 until 1 at the gymnasium at St. Joe Catholic Church in Farmington.
