CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (News First) – Two people are dead and another person injured following a three-vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon in Cape Girardeau County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash happened on Highway 72 in Millersville when a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox driven by 84-year-old Charles W. Davis of Jackson crossed the center of the road and struck a 2021 Jeep Summit head-on driven by 43-year-old Amanda Wolfmeier of Sedgewickville.
Davis’ Equinox then struck a 2019 Toyota Tundra driven by 60-year-old Dell Janke of Marquand. The Davis’ were both taken to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau where they both were pronounced dead by a hospital doctor just a few hours after the crash. Wolfmeier suffered moderate injuries. She was also taken to the hospital in Cape for treatment of her injuries.
