CENTERVILLE, Mo. (News First) – A local V.F.W. will be hosting a huge Veterans Day event and the public is invited to the fun.

“Post 6660 in Arenals County will hold a Veterans Day celebration in Centerville, which is the county seat, on 9 November from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This year’s events will have something for everybody. Free breakfast for veterans, car show, craft fair, food, kids events, a cornhole tournament, and then in their afternoon they’re going to do a remembrance and wreath ceremony at the county war memorial,” shares Junior Vice Commander for V.F.W. District Eight Randy Tolliver says.

Tolliver also says there are going to be a lot of great services offered to veterans during this special event.

“They will have a veteran service officer there for benefits counseling and to help veterans apply for any benefits that they are entitled to from their service. The VA Medical Center in Popper Bluff will have someone there to talk about and counsel medical benefits and enrollment. And there will be free legal services from the Missouri Veterans Commission. There will also be a number of different organizations that are doing community outreach. They say come and join them. It’s going to be all-day fun and entertainment.”

Also at this Veterans Day event in Centerville on Saturday, November 9th in the school gym, the auxiliary of V.F.W. Post 6660 will host a fall craft fair from 9 until 5. Just go to the auxiliary’s Facebook page for how you can be a part of the craft fair.
