CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (News First) – The Missouri State Final 4 in high school girls volleyball is underway in Cape Girardeau. Southeast Missouri is well represented this weekend with four area teams representing Class 1, 2, 3 and 4. The St. Pius Lady Lancers have already advanced to the Class 4 state title game Thursday afternoon at 4 against Jefferson City. Pius downed Platte County in three games on Wednesday in the state semifinals.
The 25-9-1 Potosi Lady Trojans will face the 25-7 Odessa Bulldogs in a Class 3 semifinal matchup today (thursday) at 10 a.m. If Potosi beats Odessa, they will play for the state championship Friday at noon.
In Class 1, the 22-11-2 Advance Lady Hornets play the 23-9 Santa Fe Lady Chiefs in a state semifinal Friday afternoon at 2. If Advance wins that matchup, they move on to the state finals scheduled for Saturday at noon.
And in Class 2 girls volleyball, the 22-8-5 St. Vincent Lady Indians will have their semifinal match Friday night at 6. They will battle 31-3-1 Bishop LeBlond. If St. Vincent wins, they will play for the Class 2 volleyball state championship Saturday afternoon at 4. All games will be played at the Show-Me Center in Cape.
