CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (News First) – Paxton DeLaurent threw for 367 yards and four touchdowns, and he added a touchdown on the ground to help 13th-ranked Southeast Missouri State beat Western Illinois 54-45. That win clinched at least a share of the Big South-OVC title for 9-2 SEMO.
Saturday’s game featured 99 points and 1,152 total yards offense, with 550-plus yards from each team. SEMO’s 51 points were a season-high. The Redhawks play their final regular season game Saturday on the road at 8-3 Tennessee State, the team right behind SEMO in the conference standings.
Chattanooga, now 2-3, defeated Southeast Missouri State 87-82 Sunday afternoon. Rob Martin led the 1-3 Redhawks with 29 points. Tedrick Washington Jr. added 25 points, ten rebounds, four assists and three steals in the loss. SEMO plays at 1-3 Central Arkansas on Thursday night.
