WASHINGTON COUNTY, Mo. (News First) – A man from Cadet is dead after being struck by a train just after 4 o’clock Thursday afternoon in Washington County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says it happened on the train tracks east of West Commercial Street and north of Williams Circle in Mineral Point. The 55-year-old man was walking on the tracks when he was struck by a Union Pacific 1450 Locomotive. The man was pronounced dead at the scene by the Washington County coroner.
