ARCADIA VALLEY, Mo. (News First) – The South Iron Panthers are again champions of the Arcadia Valley Thanksgiving Boys Basketball Tournament in Ironton. That makes seven tournament wins in a row for the Panthers but the West County Bulldogs did not make it easy for South Iron. West County led by double digits at the half and kept a lead until late in the fourth quarter. But the Panthers found that late-game magic to come away with a 53-52 victory. Here’s South Iron coach Dusty Dinkins.

The third-place game needed another frame to decide that one. Fredericktown survived by just three points, downing Lesterville 61-58. Here’s Blackcats coach Joaby Sikes.

And the first game of championship night could very well have been the best of the three games as the tournament host, Arcadia Valley Tigers survived a double overtime thriller, just edging Ellington 70-69 to win the consolation bracket trophy. Here’s A.V. coach David Prater.

But coach Dusty Dinkins of South Iron put it all in perspective for us as this 98th holiday tournament is now in the record books.

That is the 28th time the little school from Annapolis has won the Arcadia Valley Thanksgiving Tournament. The next closest to that mark is the host team Arcadia Valley who have won this tournament 16 times. Show-Me Live Radio broadcast all 11 games of the tournament at streamingrules.com with all available on demand through December 2nd.
