DENT COUNTY, Mo. (News First) – Two people are dead after two separate accidents early Sunday morning in Dent County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the first accident happened on Highway 32, a mile west of Dent County Road 4350, just west of Howes Mill, when a Harley Davidson Sportster driven by a 29-year-old man from Salem ran off the road after losing control on a curve. The driver was thrown from the bike and was pronounced dead on the scene by the Dent County Coroner. The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet.
About three hours later, the other fatality crash in Dent County took place on Highway 72, also near Howes Mill, when a 1993 Chevrolet S-10 driven by a 23-year-old Salem man ran off the road, struck a tree which partially threw the driver out of the truck through the rear glass. The driver was also pronounced dead at the scene by the Dent County coroner. These two fatalities were the 35th and 36th of 2024 for Troop I of the highway patrol.
