DESLOGE, MO (News First) – Some work is going to be done at the Desloge Public Library. Mayor Pete Pasternak says the project was approved at this week’s city council meeting.
“We had some bids on replacing the steps on the backside of the library, just old and worn out. It was definitely time to replace those so the board accepted a bid from Fitzwater Concrete on that. So that will be started sometime in the near future. It’s on the backside, I don’t think that will affect the hours at all. It will affect that back entrance for a little while. So everyone will need to go through the main entrance for a while. That’s under construction.”
And there was a late addition to the meeting’s agenda concerning some sidewalks in Desloge.
“That was an amended item that wasn’t on the agenda initially. We got some information after the agenda was posted, but went ahead. We amended the agenda to put that on there to discuss, but no action was taken on that. The meeting Friday Lincoln Street has some deteriorating sidewalks and we’re looking at getting that fixed up. Something needs to be done. We don’t know exactly what will be done yet because what we’re discussing was a little, little pricey. That’d be a big decision for the board to make. No decisions were made on that.”
Mayor Pasternak also wanted to remind citizens that Desloge City Hall will be closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.
