PARK HILLS, MO (News First) – The Rotary Club of St Francois County hosted their 66th basketball Shootout Saturday at the Bob Sechrest Fieldhouse at Mineral Area College in Park Hills. Between the two college games, a ceremony took place, inducting the latest into the Mineral Area College Athletics Hall of Fame. This year, MAC hoopster Arthur Agee Jr., and the 2019 National Champion Mineral Area Cross Country team received the honor.
Agee played basketball for Mineral Area College from 1991-1993 under coach Tim Gray and he was part of the Hoop Dreams documentary. The 2019 MAC Cross Country team, led by Coach Steve Davis, is the first of any athletics team at MAC to win a National Championship. All the money raised from the day of basketball will support the Rotary Club’s $10,000 scholarship program.
