JEFFERSON CITY, MO (News First) – Governor Parson has announced $5 million in competitive grant funding has been approved for 13 Missouri colleges and universities to continue enhancing nursing education programs statewide. This includes Mineral Area College in Park Hills which will receive $115,533. Other colleges of note receiving these grants are Missouri State University in West Plains. They will get $359,000. St. Louis University will receive $334,117 and the University of Missouri in St. Louis will receive $519,050. The awarded grants will allow nursing programs to increase faculty salaries, develop future faculty through scholarships and nursing educator programs and invest in clinical simulation technology and equipment.
