PARK HILLS, MO (News First) – The 16 boys basketball teams have been seeded for the 68th Bob Sechrest Jr. Central Christmas Tournament. The prestigious holiday tournament will begin the day after Christmas and continue through New Year’s Eve. The 5-0 Farmington Knights will be the 1-seed. The 7-0 South Iron Panthers are the 2-seed. The 4-1 Potosi Trojans were awarded the 3-seed and the 4-seed goes to the 4-1 Hillsboro Hawks. Festus is the 5-seed, Steelville is the 6-seed, Ste. Genevieve is the 7-seed, West County is the 8-seed, North County has the 9-seed, the Jefferson Blue Jays are seeded 10th, Fredericktown is 11th, the tournament host, the Central Rebels are seeded 12th, DeSoto is 13th, Arcadia Valley is 14th, Herculaneum is 15th and the Crystal City Hornets will be the 16th seed.
It should be a great tournament. All the teams have won at least one game and the majority of the teams have winning records or are at the .500 mark. The tournament will begin the day after Christmas on Thursday the 26th at 4 o’clock with four first-round games. The Farmington/Crystal City matchup will be the first, first-round game. Friday the 26th will have four more first-round games. New Year’s Eve is Championship Day for the Christmas tournament in Park Hills.
