FREDERICKTOWN, MO (News First) – A new, state-of-the-art truck stop is now open in Madison County off Highway 67. Love’s Travel Stop is located at 1500 Highway 72 West in Fredericktown. The Missouri Department of Transportation has been working with Love’s and they have removed their temporary signal and installed new traffic lights.
“A big reason for this project was that the Love’s Travel Center was working with us to put in their gas station. And we always work with our developers to take a look at the traffic impacts that we think might happen once it’s up and running,” says MoDOT’s Chris Crocker. “And what we determined was that that intersection really needed some improvements like signals to be able to function properly. Now here we are and we’re opening up and everything’s moving forward on that one.”
The new Love’s Travel Stop in Fredericktown features 63 truck parking spaces, along with 6 RV hookups and a dump station. Inside, they have a Dunkin’ Donuts, Godfather’s Pizza, and a convenience store. For the truckers, Love’s also features four showers, a laundry facility, and five diesel fuel bays.
