FARMINGTON, Mo. (NewsFirst) – News First has exclusively learned of an inmate death at the Farmington Correctional Center Tuesday night. Missouri Department of Corrections Communications Director Karen Pojmann confirmed to SEMO News First that a 27-year-old inmate died during an “altercation between two offenders”.
Pojmann says the inmate was serving a ten-year sentence for assault and burglary related charges. The incident took place at around 8 pm.
The Missouri Department of Corrections along with local law enforcement agencies are investigating the incident, according to Pojmann. Names of the two inmates involved have not yet been released.
