MARION, KENTUCKY (NewsFirst) — A car crash west of Marion, Kentucky, on US 60, killed multiple people late Saturday afternoon.
The cause of the crash is under investigation. The crash involved at least three vehicles.
A spokesperson with Kentucky State Police says three vehicles were involved and two people died.
A Kentucky State Police accident reconstruction crew was on the scene yesterday afternoon and evening. They said that a double fatality automobile accident had occurred on US 60 West in Crittenden County. The collision happened just east of the KY 297 intersection.
Sunday afternoon, Kentucky State Police have released additional information on the accident.
Jesika E. Duncan, 21, of Marion, Kentucky, was driving a 2014 Subaru Forester eastbound on U.S. 60 when Duncan’s vehicle crossed the centerline and entered the westbound lane.
Duncan then struck the rear side of a Dodge 3500, which was being driven by 28-year-old Charles H. Blankenship of Tiline, Kentucky.
Duncan’s Subaru Forester then struck, head-on, 59-year-old Harold G. Glendening of Tiline, Kentucky. Glendening was driving a 2021 Kia Telluride.
Duncan and Glendering were transported to separate hospitals where they were later pronounced dead.
Kentucky State Police said that a 2-year-old passenger in Duncan’s vehicle was injured and life-flighted to Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. A 7-year-old passenger in Glendening’s vehicle was also air-lifted to a hospital in Evansville, Indiana.
A 3-year-old in another vehicle was uninjured.
The investigation into this accident continues.
