PADUCAH, KENTUCKY (NewsFirst) — The following is the public announcement from Mayor Bray.

Mayor George Bray announced today that he will seek a 2nd term as Paducah’s Mayor. Elected as Paducah’s 40th Mayor in November 2020, Mayor Bray began his first term in January 2021.

Mayor Bray said, “Paducah is making great progress. Our population is growing again after many years of decline and there is well over $100M of development in the community. The just completed Barkley Regional Airport terminal, the Outdoor Sports Complex that is just getting underway, and the downtown Riverfront Development project set to break ground April 1st are just a few examples.”

Bray added, “I am truly honored to have served this City as Mayor and am grateful for the confidence shown me by the community. I want to continue working on the many projects we have in the development stage as I believe we are on the cusp of development growth that the region has not seen in many years.”

Mayor Bray serves on the Paducah Area Community Resource Organization (PACRO), which is focused on a reindustrialization plan for the future use of the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant site, serves on the Kentucky League of Cities (KLC) Board of Directors, and is past Chairman of the Barkley Regional Airport Authority. In his role as Chairman of Barkley Regional Airport and the Terminal Planning Committee, he was instrumental in the planning and fundraising to build a new airport terminal, the first for Paducah in 67 years.

Mayor Bray has worked tirelessly on economic development and job growth for Paducah and

McCracken County. In addition, he has driven more transparency in the workings of city government while working through the board of commissioners to utilize city financial resources both wisely and diligently.
