Erosion found during routine inspection
PADUCAH, Ky. (December 8, 2023) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has closed a section of KY 1129 in north-central Fulton County due to erosion damage at a bridge.
KY 1129 had to be closed closed at the 7.4 mile marker due to erosion damage at the end of the Sampson Branch Bridge. This is along KY 1129 immediately east of McClellan Road.
The roadway at this site will remain closed until further notice while KYTC engineers develop a repair plan.
KY 1129 was already closed at mile point 7.696 due to deterioration of timber pilings on the Brush Creek Bridge. KYTC engineers were already seeking funding for the repair or replacement of that bridge.
There are no houses on KY 1129 between the two bridges.
KYTC District 1 will attempt to provide timely noticed when a repair plan is developed.
