MAYFIELD, KY – The Graves County Sheriff’s Office wishes to express sincere gratitude to Independence Bank in Mayfield for their ongoing and generous support, making the annual Shop with a Deputy Program possible.
Independence Bank’s contribution plays a pivotal role in ensuring the success of the program, which brings joy and holiday spirit to deserving children in our community.
The primary fundraising event for this initiative is the yearly tractor drive, a community-driven event held on the last Saturday in July. This past year, participants embarked on a route starting at the old Ford Richardson building, then proceeding to the Pete and Donna Galloway Farm before concluding the drive. The Sheriff’s Office extends special thanks to all those who participated, contributing to the success of this fundraising effort.
Collaboration with local institutions, including city, county, and Northside Christian Schools, is integral to the program. These institutions provide valuable referrals for children who will accompany the Sheriff’s Office employees on a shopping trip, creating memorable holiday experiences.
This year’s Shop with a Deputy event is scheduled for Saturday, December 16, starting at 9 AM. Pryorsburg Baptist Church will host the beginning of the day, where church members will graciously prepare breakfast for the children and their parents. Following breakfast, the children, accompanied by Sheriff’s Office staff and their families, will engage in a heartwarming shopping experience for Christmas gifts.
A snapshot from the Tractor Drive Event showcases Independence Bank employees Bradley Shoulta, Bank President Darvin Towery, and Taylor Grantham presenting a monetary donation to Sheriff Jon Hayden and Deputy Greg Sloan. This photo symbolizes the community’s collaborative effort and the vital role played by local businesses in supporting programs that bring holiday cheer to children in need.
The Graves County Sheriff’s Office values the continued support of Independence Bank and the entire community in making Shop with a Deputy a cherished annual tradition.
