Over the course of the past approximate year the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office has received numerous complaints alleging that Josh Hill and Dorion Shumpert were selling illegal drugs in Paducah, McCracken County.
In June of 2023 the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office initiated a drug investigation that ultimately led to a search warrant being executed at Josh Hill’s residence in Graves County, KY. During the investigation detectives seized over one pound of Crystal Methamphetamine, Marijuana, and money believed to be proceeds of illegal drug sales from Hill’s residence. Hill was arrested and charged with trafficking in Methamphetamine, trafficking in Marijuana and other offenses. Hill was later released from custody in November of 2023 on bond.
Dorion Shumpert was arrested in September of 2022 by the Paducah Police Department for two counts of trafficking in Fentanyl and is currently out on bond awaiting trial.
During the month of December, the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office initiated a drug investigation that revealed that Josh Hill was selling large quantities of Crystal Methamphetamine. All three agencies worked together collaboratively Monday night to locate and arrest both men. Both men were located on the parking lot of Paducah hotel just before 11pm in a rental car. When detectives moved in to arrest them, Josh Hill attempted to flee on foot. Hill was caught after a short foot chase and placed under arrest. During a search of Hill detectives located approximately 200 grams of Crystal Methamphetamine inside his coat.
Dorion Shumpert was arrested after a search of the vehicle he was in revealed additional Crystal Methamphetamine and doses of Oxycodone.
As part of the investigation detectives executed a search warrant on a hotel room located at 5006 Hinkleville Road in Paducah. During a search of the room detectives located and seized a large quantity of Crystal Methamphetamine, Marijuana, and assorted drug paraphernalia commonly used to traffic in illegal drugs.
Josh Hill has an extensive criminal history including several felony convictions for trafficking in Cocaine, trafficking in Marijuana, wanton endangerment, fleeing or evading the police, and other offenses.
