LYON COUNTY, Ky. — On Friday, December 22, 2023, after 3 pm, the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office responded to a suspicious person complaint at a residence on KY 295 North, near the Crittenden County line. The caller reported a man emerging from behind a residence and being confronted by a neighbor before fleeing on foot.
Chief Deputy Sam Adams and Eddyville Police Sgt. Shannon Oliver arrived, locating a suspicious vehicle at the home. Sheriff Brent White later arrived in the area and found the suspect walking in a wooded area south of the scene. Upon approach, the suspect fled into a field before being detained by Sgt. Oliver and arrested without further incident.
The suspect was identified as Jason Williams, 46, of Hopkinsville. Chief Deputy Adams charged Williams with the following:
- Burglary-3rd Degree (garage)
- Criminal Trespassing-2nd Degree (2 counts)
- Criminal Trespassing-3rd Degree (2 counts)
- Fleeing/Evading Police-2nd Degree (on foot)
Williams was out of custody on bond conditions from Christian Circuit Court for felony and misdemeanor crimes. He is now lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.
