STODDARD COUNTY, MISSOURI (NewsFirst) — Stoddard County Sheriff, Carl Hefner reports on January 17, 2024

The Stoddard County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Missouri State Highway Patrol with a traffic stop which originated on U.S. Highway 60 near Essex. The Missouri State Highway Patrol initiated a traffic stop at which time the vehicle did not yield, the Missouri State Highway Patrol requested our assistance.

Upon the vehicle eventually coming to a stop, two adult males and two juveniles exited the vehicle. After a short foot pursuit all four subjects were located. During the investigation approximately 11 pounds of Methamphetamine and 3 firearms were located.

The two adults were arrested and transported to the Stoddard County Jail. It was discovered one of the juveniles had previously been certified as an adult on another case on which he is on probation for. He was also arrested at placed in the Stoddard County Jail. The remaining juvenile was detained by juvenile authorities and placed in the Stoddard County Detention Center.

The two adults and one certified juvenile were identified and charged as follows:

21 year old Korey Linell Johnson Jr. and 20-year-old Kortavion U Johnson of Hayti are charged with the following:

—-Trafficking Drugs or Attempt 1st degree, Class A Felony

—-Possession of Controlled substance, Class D Felony

—-Unlawful use of a Weapon (Possession of weapon and felony-controlled substance) Class E Felony

—-Unlawful use of a Weapon (Possession of Weapon and Felony controlled substance) Class E Felony

—-Unlawful use of a Weapon (Possession of Weapon and Felony controlled substance) Class E Felony

—-Resisiting/interfering with arrest, Class E Felony

17-year-old Cortez Mitchell Lewis of Hayti is charged with the following:

—-Trafficking Drugs or Attempt 1st degree, Class A Felony

—-Unlawful Possession of a firearm (dangerous felon), Class C Felony

—-Unlawful use of a Weapon (Possession of weapon and Felony controlled substance) Class E Felony

—-Unlawful use of a Weapon (Possession of Weapon and Felony controlled substance) Class E Felony

—-Unlawful use of a Weapon (Possession of Weapon and Felony controlled substance) Class E Felony

—-Resisting/interfering with arrest, Class E Felony

All three are currently being housed in the Stoddard County Jail on NO BOND warrants.
