On 01/25/2024 at approximately 1734 Marshall County Deputies were dispatched to a shooting located at a residence on West Unity Church Rd Hardin, KY. Also dispatched to the scene were Emergency Services personnel. Upon arrival at the scene it was determined that the victim, Stephen Odom 51 year old male of Benton, KY, was deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.
Deputies along with Marshall County Detectives began collecting evidence and obtaining statements from witnesses at the scene. Upon further investigation it was determined that Aaron
S. Dripps, a 37 year old male who resides at the residence where the shooting occurred had in fact shot Mr. Odom.
Aaron Dripps was taken into custody and charged with murder and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. Dripps is being held on a $500,000.00 eash bond at the Marshall County Detention Center.
The investigation is continuing into this incident and potential additional charges are pending.
Marshall County, Ky. (News First) – News First has learned of an apparent shooting in Marshall County. Sources tell News First, authorities responded to reports of a shooting in Marshall County earlier today, with sources confirming the presence of the county coroner at the scene.
Details also remain limited regarding the number of victims involved. The Kentucky State Police (KSP) and the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office have launched a joint effort to locate the suspect, who remains at large and is considered armed and dangerous.
Special Response Team units have also reportedly been deployed to assist in the search.
