PADUCAH, Ky. — The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office arrested an Arkansas woman on drug charges after a traffic stop Friday morning.
According to authorities, on January 26, 2024, just before 11 a.m., Deputy Zach Kimbler conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for traffic infractions near the intersection of Olivet Church Road and Hinkleville Roads. During the stop, a Sheriff’s Office K-9 detected the odor of illegal narcotics emanating from the vehicle.
Deputies requested the occupants to exit the vehicle for a probable cause search. Deputy Lindsey Miller observed a female passenger, identified as 28-year-old Krista Galens of Pocahontas, Arkansas, attempting to conceal something in her waistband. Galens was subsequently detained and searched.
During the search, deputies uncovered a baggy containing approximately 25 grams of Crystal Methamphetamine, along with additional baggies concealed in Galens’ pants.
Moreover, a search of the vehicle led deputies to discover a bag containing a handgun and some of Galens’ belongings.
Galens was taken into custody and booked at the McCracken County Regional Jail. A photo of the accused can be obtained from the jail’s website.
Arrested: Krista Galens, 28, of Pocahontas, Arkansas.
Charges against Galens include firearm-enhanced trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
