MAYFIELD, KY (News First) – Graves County Sheriff’s detectives, after weeks of investigation, have made multiple arrests related to drug trafficking in and around the Mayfield area.
Detectives sifted through information implicating numerous individuals in the illegal sale of crystal Methamphetamine. A series of undercover drug purchases and investigations culminated in the issuance of several arrest warrants, leading to suspects’ apprehension and search operations.
On May 2, 2024, detectives arrested 40-year-old Justin C. Fuqua of Graves County for Trafficking in crystal Methamphetamine, following an undercover operation. Fuqua, with prior convictions for felony possession of crystal Methamphetamine and illegal possession of a Meth Precursor, was taken into custody.
On May 4, 2024, 52-year-old Penny E. Todd of Norsworthey Lane in Sedalia was arrested for the illegal sale of Hydrocodone (Lortab) 2nd Offense. Todd, with previous felony convictions for Trafficking in Methamphetamine and Possession of, was apprehended on a warrant.
On May 5, 2024, at approximately 4:30 AM, 47-year-old Shawn A. Johnson of South 3rd Street in Mayfield was arrested on charges of Trafficking in Methamphetamine, Trafficking within 1000 yards of a School, at a Maple Street residence. Johnson, a convicted felon for Trafficking in Controlled Substances within 1000 yards of school and possession of Methamphetamine x 2, was taken into custody.
On May 4, 2024, at approximately 8:20 PM, sheriff’s deputies conducted a search at a residence in the Sedalia area located on Norsworthy Lane, where loaded syringes containing Methamphetamine and related items were found. Kevin L. Jones, age 36, of McKenzie, TN, was arrested and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine.
On May 5, 2024, at 5 AM, deputies arrested 37-year-old Elizabeth M. Melendez of Maple Avenue in Mayfield on an arrest warrant charging her with Trafficking in Methamphetamine.
On May 3, 2024, at 3 PM, deputies arrested 40-year-old Jorge A. Medina of Paducah in the 800 block of Maple Avenue in Mayfield on a charge of Trafficking in Methamphetamine. Medina, with prior convictions for Trafficking in Methamphetamine, was apprehended.
These investigations are ongoing, with more arrests anticipated.
