McCracken County, KY (News First) – Deputies from the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single vehicle collision near Huck’s Convenient store on Lone Oak Road/US-45 at 7:43 pm yesterday.
58-year-old Rex Clayton of Mayfield, KY, was driving a 2003 Honda Element southbound on US-45 when his vehicle hydroplaned, crossed the median, and collided with an earth embankment, causing the vehicle to go airborne before landing in a grassy area on the northbound side of US-45. Jeremiah Sayles, 32, of Pippa Passes, KY, was a passenger in the vehicle.
Both Clayton and Sayles sustained non-incapacitating injuries and were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Responding to the crash were Lone Oak Fire Dept, Mercy EMS, and Affordable Towing out of Mayfield.
