LONE OAK, Ky. (News First) — On June 2, 2024, at approximately 11:45 a.m., deputies with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office responded to a location in Lone Oak to serve an outstanding arrest warrant for William Gregory.
Deputies arrived at 167 N. Friendship Road. While pulling around to the rear of the house, a deputy observed a male resembling William Gregory, who then began walking away between houses. The deputy followed and attempted to stop Gregory. Gregory ignored commands after the deputy identified himself and fled, trying to escape into an apartment at 177 N. Friendship Road. The deputy caught up to Gregory, followed him into the apartment, and took him into custody.
Gregory was arrested on his outstanding warrant. Deputies also located suspected methamphetamine in a pack of cigarettes Gregory had dropped while fleeing. Gregory was transported to McCracken County Regional Jail and lodged.
Gregory faces charges of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and fleeing or evading police in the second degree (on foot).
