PADUCAH, Ky. (News First) — In January 2024, the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by an out-of-state children’s hospital after a three-year-old girl arrived at their facility with fractured bones and injuries consistent with abuse.
A lengthy investigation led to the arrest of Jessica Banton, 35, of Paducah. Banton was apprehended in Ballard County this week and is now lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail on charges of first-degree assault and first-degree criminal abuse (victim under 12).
She is being held on a $100,000 cash bond.
