Graves County, Ky (News First) – A pilot is dead after a plane crashed in Graves County Saturday afternoon. According to the Graves County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 3:30 PM Saturday, 911 Dispatch at KSP Post 1 received calls of an airplane crash on Grover Hall Road near the Pilot Oak community.
The office says first responders arrived to find a crop duster had crashed in a field. The pilot, who is not from the immediate area, according to the sheriff’s office, was killed in the crash.
Grove Hall Road, north of KY 2422 to Waggoner Bottom Road will be closed until further notice. The crash scene will be secured until the arrival of the FAA.
Agencies at the scene include the Sheriff’s Office, the Kentucky State Police, the Cuba Fire Department, the Sedalia Fire Department, the Graves County Road Department, Graves County Emergency Management, the Graves County Coroner’s Office, the Mayfield Fire Department and Mayfield / Graves County EMS.
