Work zones for removal of construction median crossovers
PADUCAH, Ky. (July 16, 2024) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) is establishing work zone lane restrictions along Interstate 24 at the 56 mile marker in Trigg County starting today.
Motorists should be alert for work zone lane restrictions for both eastbound and westbound traffic as they approach the 56 mile marker immediately east of the KY 139 Cadiz-Princeton Exit 56 interchange.
All traffic will move to the right-hand or driving lane to allow a crew to mill out a paved construction crossover from a concrete pavement rehabilitation project.
Motorists should be alert for trucks moving into and out of the worksite. Caution is required.
Material milled from the crossover will be used for construction of a new salt dome and equipment staging area just off KY 1523 at the I-24/I-69 Exit 24 Interchange at Calvert City.
Once asphalt and gravel have been milled at these locations, a crew is expected to be back at these locations in several weeks to return the median to normal contours.
This work zone is expected to remain in place for about two weeks.
