ST. FRANCOIS CO, Mo (News First) – The St. Francois County Sherrif’s Office recovered nearly one pound of hard drugs during a traffic stop north of Bonne Terre on Tuesday (Aug 12th). At around 12:40 pm, deputies conducted a traffic stop in the parking lot of the Dollar General store at 9217 Berry Road when a K-9 deputy alerted officers about narcotics present in the vehicle. A search unveiled approximately one pound of crystal meth, cocaine, crack cocaine, and fentanyl. The sheriff’s department says the amount of fentanyl seized in the stop could have resulted in hundreds of deaths or overdoses in St. Francois County. Additional details have not been revealed.
