PADUCAH, Ky. — Tayjaun A. Kelly, 23, of River Oaks Boulevard, was arrested Monday evening on charges of first-degree assault and three counts of first-degree wanton endangerment following a shooting early Sunday morning.
The incident occurred at 2:45 a.m. on Aug. 11, 2024, when Paducah Police responded to a report of gunfire at a large outdoor gathering in the 900 block of Boyd Street. Officers arriving at the scene heard additional gunshots and soon learned an individual had been taken to a local hospital with gunshot wounds.
Detectives identified Kelly as the shooter and later apprehended him at a residence on the 800 block of River Oaks Boulevard. He was lodged in the McCracken County Jail.
“This swift action by our officers and detectives highlights their dedication to the safety of our community,” said Paducah Police Chief Brian Laird.
