HOUSTON, Tx (News First) – The Houston Astros have released relief pitcher Dylan Coleman. The former star of the Potosi Trojans baseball team had a great start to his Major League career in 2022 for the Kansas City Royals as one of K.C.’s top relievers. Coleman pitched in 68 games with 68 innings pitched along with 71 strikeouts. However, even during his rookie season, Coleman’s control problems were concerning. Coleman walked 37 that rookie year.

Last season for the Royals, he walked 19 in just 18.1 innings of work. The Royals ended up sending Coleman to their AAA squad in Omaha where he spent the rest of last season. The Washington County hurler was traded before the start of this season to the Houston Astros. This season Coleman pitched in one early season April game after being called up from Houston’s AAA team, throwing one inning, striking out one and walking one.

Coleman spent the rest of this season with the Sugarland Space Cowboys. When Coleman was released on August 9th, he had walked 42 batters in just  36 innings pitched for Sugarland. There is still a chance Coleman could be signed by another Major League team during the offseason or possibly during the last couple of months of this baseball season.
