PADUCAH, Ky – Officer Keith Thuline of the Paducah Police Department was recognized today by the Kentucky Office of Highway Safety, receiving the 2024 Governor’s Occupant Protection Enforcement Award for his dedication to increasing seat belt and child restraint usage in Kentucky. This marks the fifth time Officer Thuline has earned this distinction for the department.
Thuline was also recognized for his outstanding efforts in Division 4, which includes every law enforcement agency in the state with 50 to 100 officers. His consistent commitment to public safety has made a significant impact on road safety in the state.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, seat belts, when worn correctly, reduce the risk of fatal injuries by 45 percent for front-seat occupants and by 60 percent in pickup trucks, SUVs, and minivans.
A 16-year veteran of the Paducah Police Department, Officer Thuline is currently assigned to 1st shift in the Operations Division. Congratulations to Officer Thuline for his continued excellence and service to the community.
