ST LOUIS (News First) – St. Louis City’s second season of Major League Soccer is looking like the complete opposite of its inaugural season. City finished first in the Western Conference in their very first season of MLS play but this year, the Sophomore Jinx seems to have hit the Gateway City’s soccer team. Saturday night in Portland, the Timbers scored in the 9th minute of second-half stoppage time to end up tying St. Louis City 4-4. St. Louis led the match 3-1 at halftime. City’s record shows just 4 wins, 12 draws and 10 losses, good for 24 points. San Jose is the only team behind St. Louis in the conference standings with 17 points. St. LouisSC’’s next match is next Sunday at City Park against the Western Conference leaders the 15-7-5 L.A. Galaxy. St. Louis has eight more games left in their season.
