If you are looking for a career or maybe you would like to switch careers, the Missouri Department of Corrections just happens to be hiring in September. They have over 200 job classifications at 90 locations throughout the state, including the prisons in Bonne Terre, Potosi and Farmington. Kathy Moore had retired from the department after working nearly three decades as a case manager. Moore enjoyed being busy, so she got herself a part-time job at the Bonne Terre prison where she is now the retention coordinator. She says they have a variety of positions available.
News 1st asked Moore if it’s somewhat frightening working at a prison.
And if you want a job working at a prison in “The Hole”, you might be able to get a job doing that. This person actually holds that position at the Bonne Terre prison.
