FARMINGTON, Mo. (News First) – The City of Farmington is looking for public input on the idea of adding a second lane to westbound Columbia Street, between Westmount Drive and the Highway 67 interchange. The City is also thinking about adding a right turn lane to Columbia Street for northbound traffic on 67.
A news release from the Farmington Public Works Department’s Facebook page says the purpose of the project is to increase efficiency and help eliminate traffic backups that happen daily when high school lets out. The City is applying for a grant from MODOT for 50% of the costs which are estimated to be $500,000. You have until September 19th to comment and they can be sent to crasnick@farmington-mo.gov.
