BONNE TERRE, Mo. (News First) – The North County R-I School District in Bonne Terre has addressed a second threat made against its schools within a week. In a note to parents posted on social media, the Intermediate School Administration was made aware of a verbal threat by one of its students on Tuesday (Sept 10th) morning.

The student was identified and administrators are investigating the claim. Precautions were taken to prevent contact between the individual and North County students and staff. Disciplinary action was taken under district policies and procedures. 

School Resource Officers were made advised of the situation and referred it to juvenile authorities.

The district says it takes all reports of threats seriously, and it’ll continue to diligently pursue investigations of any reported threats to ensure the safety of its students and staff. 

This is the second threat the district received in less than a week. On Thursday, September 5th, administrators stated they received a report of a possible threat directed towards staff and students on the North County Middle School campus at the end of the day. The district contacted law enforcement which is investigating the threat.
