CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (News First) – The Cape Girardeau Police Department is investigating a shooting that happened near the campus of Southeast Missouri State University this evening (Wed, Sept 11th). According to the university’s Facebook page, the incident happened at the Village on the Green Apartment Complex, located on North Sprigg Street, across from the Show Me Center in Cape Girardeau. No SEMO students were harmed in the incident, but the campus was put on lockdown for a short time.
Cape Girardeau Police Department’s Interim Chief Adam Glueck confirms one adult victim was shot in the leg and taken to a local hospital.
