DENT COUNTY, Mo. (News First) – Two people are dead and another seriously injured after a three-vehicle crash Monday evening in Dent County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash happened on Highway 32, eight miles east of Salem, when a 2008 Chevy Aveo driven by 21-year-old Austin M. Bramson of Salem was passing a tractor-trailer driven by 62-year-old Rodney Hammock of Salem. Bramson swerved to avoid an oncoming vehicle but lost control of his Aveo and struck a 2021 Nissan Versa head-on driven by 34-year-old Angela R. Petro of Boss.
The Aveo then struck the tractor-trailer. Bramson and Petro were both pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in Petro’s car, 41-year-old Dennis L. Petro of Boss, received serious injuries, and he was flown to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis. The truck driver was not injured. That was the 30th and 31st highway fatality for the Troop I area of the highway patrol in 2024.
