BONNE TERRE, Mo. (News First) – The Missouri Lottery Christmas Countdown Scratchers ticket caught the eye of a customer while she and her husband were shopping at Harps Food Store in Bonne Terre. She was in total disbelief when the ticket revealed a series of prizes that added up to $50,000. “I couldn’t believe it,” she said. “I even took out my calculator to add up the prizes!”
After making sure she really had the correct number of zeros, she showed her husband the winning ticket. “He didn’t believe it either,” she added. “He went back into the store to scan the ticket to make sure we won!” The couple will use some of the winnings towards a vacation they already had planned.
In FY2024, Missouri Lottery players in St. Francois County won more than $12.4 million in prizes, retailers received more than $1.2 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $2.7 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
