STE GENEVIEVE COUNTY, Mo. (News First) – A woman from Ste. Genevieve received serious injuries after being involved in a two-vehicle accident in Ste. Genevieve County Thursday night. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident took place on I-55 at mile marker 163 near Bloomsdale when a 2018 Kia Optima driven by a 30-year-old woman from Ste. Gen crossed the centerline and struck the rear of a 2014 Mazda 3 driven by a 19-year-old woman from St. Charles. The Optima then ran off the road, struck a rock bluff and overturned. The 30-year-old received serious injuries and she was taken to Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis.
