OHIO (News First) – The Southeast Missouri State Redhawks basketball team has gotten off to a great start in their Ohio Valley Conference schedule. SEMO won their conference opener Thursday 79-72 over Eastern Illinois and they followed that up with a 16-point win Saturday against SIU-Edwarsville 80-64. Southeast and Morehead State currently sit atop the conference with 2-0 records. Little Rock is 1-0 and the other eight teams in the OVC have either 1-1 or 0-2 conference marks.
Overall, the Redhawks are 6-6 and they won’t play again until next Sunday afternoon with a non-conference game at the Show-Me Center. SEMO will play NCAA Division III Westminster, Missouri. The Blue Jays have just a 1-9 record.
