UNION CITY, Tn (NewsFirst) – A plane crash in Obion County, TN Wednesday has claimed the lives of two people.

Patrol Lt Key with the Obion County Sheriff Office tells News First the “FAA is looking into it and NTSB will also be doing an investigation. Basically all that I can give is that we received the report of a plane crash around 10:49 this (Wednesday) morning,” Key said.

“Both subjects in the plane were deceased on scene. From witness statements it appears that they were doing aerobatic drills or maneuvers around the airport when they ended up nosediving into the solar farm next to the airport,” said Key.

Key confirmed to News First, the plane crashed about a half mile from the Everett-Stewart Regional Airport in Union City. He did not identify the individuals killed in the crash. Other media reports indicate the pilot and passenger were not local to the Union City area, but no other information is available at this time.
