On June 27, 2024, the Kentucky State Police Post 1 began investigating the death of Jesse Moore, 44 years old of Benton, KY. Moore was found to be deceased by investigators at his residence in the Possum Trot area of Marshall County and foul play is suspected. Information leading to the arrest or indictment of the individual or individuals involved may result in a reward of $1,000. On 06/30/2024, Murray Akers (43) of Mayfield KY, was arrested on a warrant issued out of Graves County for the charge of trafficking in a controlled substance 1st degree (methamphetamine).

On 06/30/2024, Steven Warfield (47) of Eddyville KY, was arrested when the vehicle he was operating was stopped on I24 in Marshall County. Warfield was charged with driving on a DUI suspended license 2nd offense.

On 06/28/2024, Joshua Williams (43) of Benton KY, was arrested for being a fugitive from justice due to being wanted in the state of TN. Warrant in TN was for the charge of aggravated stalking.

On 06/29/2024, Christie Stafford (50) of Hardin KY, was arrested when the vehicle she was operating was stopped on US 68 E in Marshall County. Stafford was arrested for the charge of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol 1st offense.

On 07/01/2024, Jody Rodger (29) of Hardin KY, was arrested on 2 bench warrants issued out of Marshall district court both for the charges of failure to appear, when the vehicle he was operating was stopped on Old Olive Road in Marshall County. Rodgers was also arrested for operating a motor vehicle on a suspended license, no insurance and other traffic offenses.

On 07/01/2024, Joshua Brock (29) of Fulton KY, was arrested on bench warrant issued out of Graves District Court for the charge of contempt of court. Brock was also arrested for violation of KY EPO/DVO.

On 07/01/2024, Christopher Davis (30) of Benton KY, was arrested and charged with violation of conditions of release.

On 07/01/2024, Anthony Finley (51) of Paducah KY, was arrested on a criminal complaint warrant for the charges of strangulation 1st degree, assault 1st degree and criminal mischief 1st degree.


NEWS RELEASE: Kentucky State Police Investigating Murder in Marshall County

Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 1 received a call at approximately 8:30pm CT on June 27th from the US Forestry Service regarding an abandoned vehicle that was located in Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area. Troopers were requested to conduct a welfare check on the individual who was known to regularly operate the vehicle, Jesse Moore, 44 years old of Benton, KY.

Troopers responeded to a residence in the Possom Trot area of Marshall County to attempt to make contact with Jesse Moore. When they arrived at the residence, they located a deceased male who appeared to have suffered from a gunshot wound.

An autopsy was conducted on June 29th, during which the identity of the deceased male was confirmed to be Jesse Moore. Foul play is suspected in the death of Jesse Moore and the investigation remains ongoing by Post 1 detectives.

On 06/27/2024 Michael Curry (36) of Benton KY, was arrested and charged with assault 4th degree.

On 06/26/2024, Ricky Stevenson (54) of Calvert City KY, was arrested for the charge of criminal trespassing 3rd degree when he was located at a residence that he had previously be trespassed.

06/27/2024, Richard Heard (41) of Mayfield KY, was arrested when the vehicle that he was operating was stopped on Gilbertsville Highway and Cirrito Ln. Heard was charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), and other traffic offenses.

On 06/26/2024, Steven Lane (46) of Benton KY, was arrested on a criminal complaint warrant issued out of Marshall District Court for the charge of assault 4th degree.

On 06/25/2024, Estill Brewer (62) of Benton KY, was arrested on a criminal complaint warrant issued out of Marshall District Court for the charge of assault 4th degree.

06/21/24, Jason Nanney (43) of Benton KY, was arrested on a warrant issued by Marshall District Court for the charge of criminal abuse 1st degree.

On 06/23/24, Lisa Litchfield (53) of Benton KY, was arrested on a bench warrant issued out of Marshall Circuit Court for the charge of probation violation.

On 06/21/24, Ashley Williams (33) of Hardin KY, was arrested on a bench warrant issued out of McCracken Circuit Court for the charge of contempt of court.

On 06/23/24, Lisa Litchfield (53) of Benton KY, was arrested on a bench warrant issued out of Graves District Court for the charge of failure to appear.

On 06/23/24, Jesse Webb (31) of Grand Rivers, was arrested following a report of a disturbance and assault on Horace Barnes Road in Marshall County. Webb initially barricaded himself, the victim of the assault and a minor child in the residence. After over an hour, Webb exited the home and was placed under arrest. Webb was charged with assault 4th degree, endangering the welfare of a minor and disorderly conduct 2nd degree.

On 06/19/2024, Christopher Davis (30) Benton KY, was arrested on a criminal complaint warrant issued out of Marshall District Court for the charge of criminal mischief 1st degree and terroristic threatening 3rd degree.

On 06/19/2024, Charles W. Morgan (30) of Calvert City KY, was arrested after a the ATV he was operating on was stopped on Patriot Street in Gilbertsville. Morgan provided false information to his identity but Deputies were able to discover is true identity and discovered that he had 2 outstanding
